Role Description The Academic Counselor role at Design Indian is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. Academic Counselors support prospective and current students by understanding their academic interests, explaining available programs, and helping them make informed choices about courses and learning paths. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, providing academic advising, assisting with career planning, and guiding students through admission and enrollment processes. The role also involves maintaining accurate student records, coordinating with faculty and administrative staff, and participating in outreach activities such as information sessions or workshops. Academic Counselors are expected to communicate clearly, handle queries with care and confidentiality, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills, with the ability to guide learners on program selection and academic planning.
• Career Counseling and Education-related knowledge to support students in exploring career options and aligning studies with professional goals.
• Strong Communication skills, including active listening, clear spoken and written communication, and the ability to explain complex information simply.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Experience working with students or in an academic institution is preferred.
• Ability to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in documentation and follow-up.
• Comfort with basic digital tools and student management systems.
