Client Overview

Vernovis is partnering with a well-established, family-owned organization in the transportation, logistics, and moving industry that has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional service. As the company continues to grow, they are investing in their accounting operations and are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead their billing team, improve processes, and help drive operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of billing and accounting professionals while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee day-to-day billing operations to ensure timely, accurate invoicing and revenue processing.
• Partner with Accounting and Operations leadership to improve billing workflows, streamline processes, and enhance overall efficiency.
• Review billing accuracy, reconciliations, and revenue reporting while helping support month-end close activities.
• Resolve complex billing issues by collaborating with internal stakeholders and delivering excellent customer service.
• Establish performance metrics, monitor team performance, and identify opportunities for employee development.
• Evaluate current processes and implement best practices to improve scalability and operational effectiveness.
• Support compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation standards.

What Experience You'll Have

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, billing, accounts receivable, project accounting, or a related accounting function.
• Previous experience leading or supervising a team, including coaching, mentoring, or performance management.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working within an ERP system.

What Experience is Nice to Have

• Experience in logistics, transportation, manufacturing, construction, professional services, or other project-based billing environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar ERP platforms.
• Background in process improvement, change management, or implementing operational efficiencies within an accounting or billing function.
