Role : DevOps / APIM Tech Lead

Experience : 8+ Years

Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned DevOps / APIM Tech Lead who will own the end-to-end Azure API Management platform, DevOps pipelines, and configuration management across environments. The candidate must bring deep hands-on experience and the ability to lead technical discussions, drive RCAs, and own production-grade changes with full accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Own and manage Azure API Management (APIM) platform including gateway configuration, API policies, rate limiting, caching, transformations, versioning, and subscription management.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO) for APIM artifacts, infrastructure-as-code, and application deployments.
Manage WAF (Web Application Firewall) integration with APIM including policy association, rule tuning (OWASP), IP whitelisting, and listener configuration.
Implement and govern configuration management across Dev, QA, Staging, and Production environments ensuring consistency and change traceability.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Terraform, or ARM/Bicep templates within the Azure ecosystem.
Manage and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) including cluster management, pod scaling, ingress configuration, and integration with APIM.
Establish and enforce change management governance including 4-eyes principle on production changes, RACI between infra/platform and application teams, and ServiceNow integration for change approvals.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents related to APIM, DevOps pipelines, and infrastructure changes.
Collaborate with application teams, security teams, and leadership to ensure seamless API lifecycle management.
Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Azure-native tools, ServiceNow, and ADO integrations.

Must-Have Skills

Azure APIM : Hands-on experience with API policies, products, subscriptions, gateway config (global & API-level), diagnostics, and logging.
Azure DevOps (ADO) : Pipeline design (YAML/Classic), release gates, variable groups, service connections, artifact management.
WAF / Application Gateway : WAF policy configuration, rule management (custom & managed rules), association at listener/path level.
IaC & Automation : Terraform / ARM / Bicep for Azure infra; Ansible for configuration management and automation.
Change & Config Mgmt : Experience with ServiceNow ITSM integration, environment-specific config promotion, change governance.
Scripting : PowerShell, Bash, Python for automation and troubleshooting.
Communication : Ability to lead technical discussions, present RCAs, and interact with customers and leadership confidently.
