Job Title: Assistant Manager – Infrastructure & Network Management


Department: Information Technology


Location: Gurgaon


Reporting to: Head of Technology


About the Role

The role is responsible for managing enterprise IT infrastructure, network operations, systems administration, cloud and hosting environments, security controls, Microsoft platform administration and API integration ecosystems across multiple locations. The position will provide centralized governance while enabling effective support to distributed station-level IT teams, ensuring high availability, performance, security, scalability and operational continuity for business-critical technology services.

The ideal candidate will be a mid-to-senior level professional with 7 - 10+ years of relevant experience in complex, multi-location IT environments, preferably in aviation, logistics, ground handling, transportation, or other distributed operational industries.


Key Responsibilities


Infrastructure & Server Management

  • Design, implement, administer and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure including on-premise servers, cloud infrastructure, virtualization platforms, storage, backup and related systems.
  • Manage Windows and Linux server environments, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, patching, performance optimization, hardening and lifecycle management.
  • Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or equivalent technologies.
  • Ensure server availability, capacity planning, backup readiness and operational resilience across business-critical systems.


Network Management

  • Manage multi-OEM network infrastructure across centralized and station-level environments, including LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, routing, switching, routers, switches, load balancers, DNS, DHCP and connectivity services.
  • Monitor network health, availability, capacity and performance using enterprise monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues across multiple stations and coordinate timely resolution with internal teams, OEMs, service providers and vendors.
  • Support network optimization initiatives to improve reliability, performance and user experience across locations.


Cloud & Hosting

  • Administer Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments, including cloud resources, hosting platforms, identity integrations, monitoring and governance controls.
  • Support cloud infrastructure planning, migration, optimization, high availability, backup and disaster recovery requirements.
  • Ensure cloud and hosted environments are aligned with organizational security, compliance, cost and performance expectations.


Security & Firewall Management

  • Administer firewall configurations, rule changes, access policies, VPNs and network security controls in line with organizational governance standards.
  • Perform infrastructure hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation, audit support and compliance-related activities.
  • Coordinate with information security teams to implement security controls, monitor risks and support incident response for infrastructure and network environments.


API Integration & Management

  • Manage and support enterprise integration services including REST APIs, SOAP web services, API gateways, middleware, managed file transfer, messaging platforms and event-driven integrations.
  • Oversee API lifecycle activities including integration design support, deployment coordination, monitoring, performance optimization, troubleshooting and governance.
  • Support secure and reliable integration between enterprise applications, operational systems, cloud platforms and third-party systems.
  • Coordinate with application, security, cloud and development teams to ensure API availability, security, scalability and compliance.


Microsoft Ecosystem Administration

  • Administer Microsoft platforms including Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, endpoint management, identity and access management and related policy controls.
  • Support user access governance, device compliance, endpoint security policies, licensing coordination and Microsoft platform operational support.
  • Ensure Microsoft ecosystem administration is aligned with enterprise security, productivity and governance requirements.


Multi-Location Operations Support

  • Provide centralized infrastructure and network governance for distributed operations across multiple stations or business locations.
  • Support station-level IT teams in troubleshooting, escalations, technology rollouts, documentation and operational issue resolution.
  • Ensure standardization of infrastructure processes, monitoring, change control, compliance, documentation and support practices across locations.


Team, Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, IT teams, OEMs, telecom service providers, cloud partners and technology vendors for operational support and project delivery.
  • Manage vendor performance, service reviews, SLA adherence, escalation tracking and technology upgrade planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on availability, service quality, automation, risk reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, inventory records, escalation matrices and operational runbooks.


Required Skills & Qualifications


Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 7 - 10+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, systems management, cloud operations, security controls and enterprise integration support.
  • Experience in multi-location organizations with distributed IT operations and business-critical infrastructure environments.


Technical Skills

  • Strong administration experience in Windows Server and Linux environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of network technologies including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, VPN, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, load balancing and wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience with multi-OEM network environments and vendor-supported technology landscapes.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience in firewall governance, network security controls, vulnerability remediation, patching and infrastructure hardening.
  • Knowledge of API integrations, middleware, API gateways, REST/SOAP services, managed file transfers and messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, ActiveMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, disaster recovery and troubleshooting tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft administration including Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Intune, identity, access, endpoint and policy management.
  • Exposure to scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools will be an advantage.


Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of incident management, change management, problem management and service request fulfilment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, governance processes, audit evidence and operational controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in distributed, high-availability and operationally sensitive environments.
  • Ability to manage priorities, escalations, dependencies and vendor deliverables in a time-bound manner.


Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in aviation, airport operations, ground handling, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or other multi-location operational environments.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure for mission-critical applications and 24x7 business operations.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud, disaster recovery planning, infrastructure modernization, automation and technology standardization initiatives.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, CCNA, CCNP, VMware Certified Professional, ITIL Foundation, RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent will be preferred.

Reporting Structure

  • The role will report to the Infrastructure Lead / Head of Technology.
  • The role will work closely with application teams, Information security teams, station IT teams, business operations teams, service providers, OEMs and external technology partners.


Location / Work Environment

  • The role will operate in a multi-location environment with centralized governance and distributed station-level support.
  • The position may require coordination across corporate offices, operational stations, data centers, cloud environments, vendors and field IT teams.
  • The candidate should be comfortable supporting business-critical operations, managing escalations and participating in planned maintenance, technology rollouts and incident response activities as required.
