Job Purpose

The Assistant Vice President (AVP), CKYC Operations will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Central Know Your Customer (CKYC) operations within the Digital Bank, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role involves leading a team, dedicated to timely and accurate CKYC data management, monitoring a critical CKYC remediation project, and fostering a strong risk and control culture. The incumbent will be a subject matter expert in CKYC regulations and an advocate for continuous process improvement.

Key Accountabilities And Requirements

  • CKYC Operations Management:
    • Oversee the end-to-end CKYC process for customer onboarding, re-KYC, and static data updates.
    • Ensure timely and accurate upload of customer documents and information into the CERSAI portal.
    • Establish and maintain robust operational procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance with CKYC guidelines.
    • Monitor daily CKYC activities, identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks and issues promptly.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Advisory:
    • Stay abreast of all regulatory changes and updates pertaining to CKYC, AML, and other relevant KYC norms issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other regulatory bodies.
    • Implement necessary process changes and system enhancements to ensure continuous compliance.
    • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and interpretation of CKYC regulations to the team and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure all CKYC activities adhere to internal policies and external regulatory frameworks.
  • Team Leadership & People Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the team members, fostering a high-performance and collaborative work environment.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training and development needs for team members.
    • Manage resource allocation, work distribution, and scheduling to optimize efficiency and meet operational targets.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
  • Project Monitoring & Remediation:
    • Remotely monitor and track the progress of the CKYC remediation project, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
    • Collaborate with vendor teams and internal stakeholders to address any issues or challenges encountered during the remediation process.
    • Ensure the quality and accuracy of data and processes involved in the remediation efforts, especially for activities performed at vendor premises.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on project status to senior management.
  • Risk, Control & Audit Readiness:
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks associated with CKYC activities.
    • Implement and enforce strong internal controls to safeguard customer data and ensure operational integrity.
    • Ensure timely reporting of incidents, errors, or breaches related to CKYC operations.
    • Maintain an "audit-ready" culture, ensuring all documentation, processes, and controls are robust and readily available for internal and external audits.
    • Respond effectively to audit findings and implement corrective actions as required.
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in Banking Operations, with at least 3-4 years specifically in CKYC, KYC, or AML functions.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of operational staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of CKYC guidelines, CERSAI portal operations, and relevant RBI regulations.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and internal controls within a financial services environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in project monitoring and vendor management is an advantage.
