Role Description The Automotive Painter at MECFORCE is a full-time, on-site role based in Kottayam. The role involves preparing vehicle surfaces through cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming, and applying paint, clear coats, and specialized finishes according to job requirements and manufacturer standards. The Automotive Painter will match and mix paint colors, repair minor dents and imperfections, and ensure a high-quality, consistent finish on cars and bikes. Daily responsibilities include maintaining painting equipment, following safety and environmental guidelines, coordinating with service advisors and technicians, and inspecting completed work for quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in automotive painting, including surface preparation, color matching, and application of basecoat and clearcoat finishes.
• Experience with dent repair, bodywork, and detailing processes related to painting and refinishing.
• Knowledge of protective coatings such as ceramic coating, graphene coating, and paint protection film (PPF) application.
• Ability to use painting tools and equipment safely and effectively, including spray guns, sanders, and polishing tools.
• Attention to detail, with a focus on finish quality, cleanliness, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
• Prior experience in an automotive workshop or body shop; vocational training or certification in automotive painting is an advantage.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, collaborate with team members, and manage time to meet service deadlines.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, work in varied positions, and handle workshop materials and equipment.
