Role Description

We are looking for a Backend Developer Intern to join our remote team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building scalable backend systems, working with APIs, solving complex technical problems, and improving application performance.

As a Backend Developer Intern, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain server-side applications, design efficient database structures, integrate third-party services, and troubleshoot backend issues. We are especially looking for someone with hands-on knowledge of NestJS, strong debugging skills, a solid understanding of databases, and an interest in AI-powered integrations or tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using NestJS
• Build, test, and integrate REST APIs and third-party services
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and performance
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code
• Debug and resolve backend issues efficiently
• Collaborate with frontend developers for smooth system integration
• Assist in implementing AI-based features, tools, or workflows where needed
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and backend architecture improvements

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of NestJS and backend development concepts
• Strong understanding of APIs, server-side logic, and system integration
• Good command of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and optimization skills
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
• Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows
• Basic understanding of frontend integration
• Interest in AI tools, AI integrations, or intelligent application workflows
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Prior internship, personal projects, or practical experience in backend development
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, deployment, or performance optimization is a plus
