Backend Developer (Python)

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Python for high-traffic B2C applications.
  

• Design, develop, and optimize REST APIs and backend systems following clean architecture and best engineering practices.
  

• Develop and ship AI/ML-powered features, with exposure to Agentic AI being a strong advantage.
  

• Integrate backend services with third-party platforms and external systems.
  

• Design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL/NoSQL queries for performance and scalability.
  

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to build customer-focused features.
  

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while participating in code reviews and technical discussions.
  

• Debug production issues, improve system reliability, and continuously optimize application performance.
  
  
  
  

Mandatory Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on Backend Engineering experience using Python, building production-grade systems in a B2C product environment.
  

• AI/ML Exposure: Minimum 6 months of experience building and shipping AI/ML-based features; experience with Agentic AI is highly preferred.
  

• Backend Fundamentals: Strong understanding of backend engineering concepts including API development, service-oriented architecture, data structures, algorithms, and clean coding practices.
  

• Backend Development: Experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs and backend services, including integrations with external systems.
  

• Databases: Strong experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  

• Company Background: Experience working in B2C product companies/startups. Candidates from Series D+ funded startups or FinTech companies are highly preferred.
  

• Career Stability: Consistent tenure across previous organizations. Frequent job changes will not be considered.

• Startup Mindset: Comfortable working in a funded early-stage FinTech startup with a fast-paced, ownership-driven culture.
  

• Work Model: Must be comfortable working from the office, 6 days a week.
