Job Description
Position: Billing Manager
Location: Mumbai - Andheri
Experience: Minimum 6–10 years in billing/finance operations with at least 3–4 years in team handling
Reports To: Head of Finance
Role Overview
The Billing Manager is responsible for end-to-end billing operations across Satcom services, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely reconciliations, customer query resolution, payout management, and compliance with contractual billing terms. The role also involves leading a billing team, strengthening controls, and improving billing accuracy and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
a. Billing & Invoicing
• Generate accurate and timely invoices via IBIS, Zoho Books, etc.
• Validate billing data such as usage, plan rates, pro-rata charges.
• Ensure billing for VSAT, Starlink, Maritime, IoT, and DID services are done time with accuracy.
b. Payouts & Vendor Settlements
• Process monthly/quarterly payouts to vendors & partners.
• Validate vendor invoices against billing records.
• Ensure compliance with pricing tiers and contracts.
c. Reconciliations
• Monthly reconciliation of IBIS usage, vendor bills, and Zoho Books.
• Identify gaps, duplicate billing, or missed revenue.
• Track receivables, SOA reconciliation and balances.
d. Customer Grievances
• Resolve billing disputes within defined SLA.
• Coordinate with Sales, Support, vendors & Delivery/logistic.
• Recommend credit notes where applicable and resolve customer query well on time as per SLA.
e. Compliance & Governance
• Ensure adherence to commercial terms and audit trails.
• Maintain process documentation & billing SOPs.
• Support internal and external audits.
f. Process Improvement & Automation
• Identify automation opportunities.
• Improve accuracy and efficiency through workflow enhancements.
• Ensure SLA adherence and error reduction.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Business (MBA/CA/ICWA is a plus).
• 6–10 years of experience in Billing, Revenue Assurance, or Finance Operations.
• 3–4 years of team handling experience (mandatory).
• Strong experience in:
o Subscription / usage-based billing
o Reconciliations, SOA, AR tracking
o Vendor settlements and contract validation
• Hands-on experience with Zoho Books, IBIS, ERP, or similar billing systems.
