Role Description The Biocides R&D Manager will lead the research and development of new and improved industrial biocide and antimicrobial formulations, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. This full-time, on-site role based in Goa, India involves managing laboratory activities, planning experiments, analyzing data, and overseeing scale-up from lab to pilot and production. The role includes guiding a multidisciplinary R&D team, coordinating projects with manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams, and maintaining strong documentation and reporting practices. The Biocides R&D Manager will also evaluate raw materials and technologies, collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand application needs, and drive continuous improvement in product performance and cost-effectiveness. Regular responsibilities include ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards and contributing to technical presentations, product dossiers, and innovation pipelines.
Qualifications

• Strong Research and Development (R&D) and Research skills, including experimental design, data analysis, and formulation development in industrial biocides or related specialty chemicals.
• Demonstrated Team Management and Team Leadership capabilities to guide, mentor, and develop a laboratory and technical team.
• Proven Project Management experience to plan, prioritize, and deliver multiple R&D projects on time and within scope.
• Advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, or a related discipline; relevant industrial biocides or antimicrobial experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial microbiology, biocide modes of action, and application in aqueous-based systems; familiarity with regulatory and safety standards for chemical products.
• Ability to work on-site in Goa, India, with strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer-facing technical discussions.
• Experience with scale-up from lab to plant, process optimization, and quality systems; ISO-certified environment experience is an advantage.
• High level of analytical thinking, problem-solving, and documentation skills, including preparation of technical reports and product specifications.
