Job Overview
We are seeking a Cloud Linux System Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our entirely cloud-based infrastructure. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for our cloud environments, focusing heavily on AWS and DigitalOcean. You will be responsible for ensuring the high availability and performance of our web servers (Nginx and Apache), automating infrastructure deployments, and ensuring seamless scalability as our platforms grow.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based cloud instances across AWS (EC2, VPC, RDS, IAM) and DigitalOcean (Droplets, VPC, Volumes, Spaces).
- Web Server Administration: Configure, optimize, and maintain high-performance web servers using Nginx and Apache, including reverse proxies, load balancing, SSL/TLS management, and caching.
- Performance & Scaling: Monitor cloud resource utilization and application performance; implement auto-scaling and cost-optimization strategies.
- Security & Access Control: Implement cloud security best practices, managing firewalls (AWS Security Groups, DigitalOcean Firewalls), user permissions, and keeping OS/software patches up to date.
- Automation & Scripting: Write and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to automate routine cloud operations, backups, and deployments.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and resolve complex cloud networking, server, and web server configuration issues to minimize downtime.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator working exclusively or predominantly in cloud environments.
- Cloud Platforms: Hands-on, deep proficiency with both AWS and DigitalOcean platforms.
- Web Servers: Advanced knowledge of Nginx and Apache (virtual hosts, rewrite rules, performance tuning, and security hardening).
- Linux Mastery: Strong administration skills in cloud-native Linux distributions (Ubuntu Server, Debian , Red hat etc..).
- Networking: Solid grasp of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, DNS management (Route 53, DigitalOcean DNS), firewalls, and subnets.
- Scripting: Proficiency in Bash or Python for automation and cloud API integration.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience using Terraform to manage AWS and DigitalOcean resources.
- Containers: Basic familiarity with Docker for containerized application deployments.
- Certifications: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or equivalent Linux/Cloud certifications.
