Job Purpose
The Sheet Metal Commodity Specialist is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for sheet metal components, assemblies, and fabricated parts. This role owns annual spend of approximately $40M, leads a team of sourcing professionals, and collaborates cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, Finance, and Program Management to drive cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and supplier innovation

Job Purpose
The Sheet Metal Commodity Specialist is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for sheet metal components, assemblies, and fabricated parts. This role owns annual spend of approximately $40M, leads a team of sourcing professionals, and collaborates cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, Finance, and Program Management to drive cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and supplier innovation
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain a 3–5 year commodity strategy for sheet metal, stamping, and fabricated components
- Lead negotiations, supplier selection, and long‑term agreement development
NPD & SSP program
- Support New Product Development (NPD) by aligning supplier capabilities with project needs
- Support Strategic Sourcing Program (SSP)
Cost & Budget Management
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field. MBA preferred
- 15+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management, preferably in sheet metal or fabricated mechanical components.
- Demonstrated experience managing a spend of $40M+
- Proven leadership experience managing teams
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills
- knowledge of ERP like SAP / LN / Oracle etc; & relevant purchasing systems
