Job Description – General Manager / AVP – Content Sourcing

About the Rol

eWe are looking for an experienced General Manager / AVP – Content Sourcing to lead content acquisition and strategic sourcing initiatives for a leading Media/OTT/Digital Entertainment organization

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in sourcing, acquiring, licensing, and managing premium content across digital and broadcast platforms. The candidate should possess strong industry relationships with production houses, studios, broadcasters, aggregators, content creators, distributors, and independent creator

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organization's content sourcing and acquisition strategy.
• Identify and acquire high-quality regional, national, and international content.
• Build strategic partnerships with production houses, studios, broadcasters, distributors, and content aggregators.
• Lead commercial negotiations for content licensing, acquisition, syndication, and distribution agreements.
• Source movies, TV shows, web series, documentaries, sports, kids' content, music, and other digital content based on business requirements.
• Evaluate content performance, audience preferences, market trends, and competitor offerings.
• Manage content acquisition budgets and optimize content investment.
• Coordinate with Programming, Product, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Technology teams to ensure seamless content onboarding.
• Negotiate content rights across SVOD, AVOD, TVOD, FAST, TV, and digital platforms.
• Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and content rights management.
• Develop long-term relationships with key content owners and industry stakeholders.
• Monitor emerging content trends and identify new acquisition opportunities.

Candidate Profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate; MBA preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in Content Sourcing, Content Acquisition, Licensing, or Content Partnerships.
• Experience in OTT Platforms, Media Companies, Broadcasters, Television Networks, Digital Entertainment, Content Distribution, or Streaming Platforms.
• Strong understanding of content rights, licensing, syndication, and digital distribution.
• Excellent commercial negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Existing network within the media and entertainment ecosystem will be a significant advantage.
