Who are we looking for?

• Someone early in their career who is genuinely hungry, mouldable, and already obsessed with finance
• Someone who reads balance sheets on a Saturday, has opinions on screener.in, and watches finance creators to understand how they think, not to kill time.

What you'll be doing

• As a writer at Zero1, you'll write across the full range of our content — long-form YouTube scripts, Shorts, Reels, and everything in between — covering business, the economy, startups, and the geopolitics that shape India's financial landscape.

• You'll also repurpose strong stories across formats and platforms, turning one piece of research into multiple pieces of content that each work on their own.

• We go deep on Investing, Trading, Business, Economy, Finance, and world events — and steer clear of politics, religion, and news.

Role and responsibilities

• Write and proofread original content across formats, pitching 2–3 fresh topics every week.

• Repurpose strong stories across formats: turn a long-form script into Shorts, a research deep-dive into a Reel, a single insight into content that works everywhere.

• Research deeply — read annual reports, SEBI filings, research papers, and primary sources. Find the one fact nobody else has reported and build a story around it.

• Convert a story into a clear visual brief the video production team can run with.

• Track how your content performs and use what you learn to make the next piece sharper.

• Stay on top of markets and business developments — not the noise, the signal.

• Bring a working understanding of capital markets to everything you write.

What you need to apply

• 0–3 years of experience in writing — freshers with strong portfolios are welcome.

• A genuinely strong writer with a clear voice and sharp communication skills.

• A working understanding of how markets, businesses, and the economy function.

• A knack for finding the small, surprising detail that most people miss.

• Openness to feedback and a real desire to keep getting better.

• Ability to collaborate with internal teams and ship before the deadline.

• An ownership mindset. You own what you write, end to end.

Brownie points

• If you've written finance or business scripts for YouTube

• If you can present and narrate the script you wrote.

• If you've worked with a YouTube creator or built a channel from scratch.

• If you regularly use screener.in, Tijori, or similar tools for your own research.

• If you've found a data point or fact that isn't on the internet and built a story around it.

Interview process

We aim to wrap up within two weeks:

1. Intro call with our team

2. A short writing task
