About the Role


Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize self-hosted Kubernetes clusters managed through Rancher.
  • Create, maintain, and improve Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deploy, upgrade, roll back, and troubleshoot applications running on Kubernetes.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues including failed deployments, CrashLoopBackOff, ImagePullBackOff, networking issues, DNS resolution, resource constraints, persistent storage failures, and TLS/certificate problems.
  • Manage Kubernetes namespaces, RBAC, service accounts, secrets, ConfigMaps, certificates, and access policies.
  • Implement and maintain Kubernetes networking, ingress/egress controllers, load balancing, and service discovery.
  • Configure monitoring, alerting and monitor platform health, availability, and performance using monitoring and logging tools.
  • Configure and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures for Kubernetes workloads.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve application deployment processes and platform reliability.
  • Automate operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure as Code where appropriate.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous platform improvements.
  • Document infrastructure, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Help maintain/implement other DevOps tools like Gitlab etc.


Your Profile :

  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering production and mission critical Kubernetes clusters, preferably self-hosted and managed using Rancher.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes concepts including Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, Ingress/egress, Namespaces, RBAC, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Persistent Volumes, Network Policies, and Helm.
  • Strong Linux administration skills with experience in scripting and automation skills, preferably in Bash, Go or Python.
  • Excellent knowledge of Docker, container images, container registries, and container lifecycle management.
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Kubernetes deployments, networking, DNS, storage, resource constraints, and TLS/certificate issues.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Icinga, Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, OpenSearch/ELK, and FluentBit/Fluentd.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/SSL, load balancing, ingress controllers, and service discovery.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, service accounts, secrets management, image scanning, least privilege, and certificate management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with the ability to work independently in a production environment.
