EHS Officer (Mumbai)

Note: This is a project-based contractual position for an estimated duration of 2 months, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and responsible EHS Officer to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance for a prestigious commercial interior execution project in Kurla, Mumbai. This role is ideal for candidates with minimum 1 - 3 years of experience who are looking to gain hands-on experience on a high-profile site.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with site safety regulations and company EHS policies.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Ensure proper usage of PPE by all workers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Maintain EHS documentation, inspection reports, permits, and incident records.
• Monitor safe execution of interior fit-out activities, including work at height, electrical works, carpentry, ceiling works, painting, and material handling.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, and contractors to address safety observations.
• Report, investigate, and follow up on incidents and near misses.
• Ensure emergency preparedness, fire safety, first-aid availability, and good housekeeping.
• Support client safety audits and ensure compliance with site-specific safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in EHS, preferably in construction or interior fit-out projects.
• Freshers with relevant safety certifications and internship experience may also be considered.

Preferred Skills

• Basic understanding of construction and interior fit-out safety practices.
• Good communication in Hindi / English / Marathi and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and risk assessments.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

• Diploma/Certificate in Industrial Safety
• First Aid Certification
• Fire Safety Training
• Work at Height Training (Preferred)
