Role Overview
We are hiring our first demand generation hire for events and partnerships to put Dodo in front of builders, in person, around the world. This is a revenue role, not an events logistics role. You will design and run events, hackathons and partnerships that generate qualified pipeline, and you will be measured on the dollars they produce. You will work closely with founders, sales and key account management, and you will write the playbook from scratch.

You will design and run events, hackathons and partnerships that generate qualified pipeline, and you will be measured on the dollars they produce. You will work closely with founders, sales and key account management, and you will write the playbook from scratch.
What You Will Do
Dodo Exclusive Events
- Design and run founder dinners, builder meetups and community gatherings in our key markets
- Curate the room, own the format and run each event end to end
- Build a pre-event target list and a post-event conversion report for every event
- Conceptualize and run hackathons for developers and indie builders, from theme and prizes to judging and follow-up
- Drive outcomes that produce live integrations, not just attendance numbers
- Represent Dodo at developer and SaaS conferences worldwide
- Work the room, qualify builders and hand warm opportunities to sales with full context
- Build co-marketing and event partnerships with VCs, accelerators and builder communities
- Put Dodo in front of their portfolios and members through joint events and programs
- Own a sourced pipeline target in dollars, with first touch attribution and a 90 day window
- Hand off cleanly to sales and KAM; you own the handoff quality, they own the close
- 3 to 6 years in field marketing, developer marketing, community or demand generation
- You have run hackathons or developer events before and can show what came out of them
- Comfortable with technical founders; you can explain why a Merchant of Record beats stitching together a gateway plus tax software
- Able to hold a business conversation too; founders at your events think in unit economics, not just APIs
- You think in funnels: attendees, conversations, qualified opportunities, dollars
- Able to travel 30 to 40 percent and operate independently across time zones
- Comfortable working in a fast moving startup environment without a team behind you
- Experience in payments, billing, fintech or dev tools
- An existing network in builder, indie hacker or startup communities
- Worked with VC or accelerator partnership programs
In 3 months:
- Run at least two Dodo events with pre-event target lists and post-event conversion reports
- First sourced pipeline on the board with clean attribution
- One partnership signed with a VC, accelerator or builder community
- A repeatable event playbook exists: formats that work, costs per qualified opportunity, conversion benchmarks
- First hackathon delivered with live integrations to show for it
- Quarterly sourced pipeline target met, with sales confirming handoff quality
- High ownership and direct impact
- Work closely with founders
- First field hire; no playbook exists, you write it
- The line from your work to revenue is one step long
- Real problems, real scale
