Role Description The Finance Manager role at Sky Ocean Shipping LLC is a full-time, on-site position based in Malappuram. The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring cash flow, and preparing periodic financial statements and reports. The role involves budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis to support decision-making and ensure alignment with company objectives. The Finance Manager will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, while coordinating with banking partners, auditors, and other stakeholders. This position will also support strategic initiatives by providing financial insights, reviewing contracts from a financial perspective, and contributing to process improvements within the finance function.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including experience with general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and month-end closing.
  • Candidates should possess budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills to support cost control, profitability assessment, and business planning.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and internal control frameworks relevant to the logistics and shipping industry.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, along with solid data interpretation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and financial institutions.
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field are required; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, CPA) are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in finance roles within shipping, logistics, or a related industry is highly beneficial, along with familiarity with GCC market practices.
