Role Description The Front Desk Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based at the AIEC office in Nawanshahr. This role is responsible for welcoming visitors, students, and families, ensuring a professional and friendly first point of contact for the consultancy. Daily responsibilities include managing the reception area, answering and routing phone calls, responding to basic inquiries about services, and scheduling appointments for counsellors and team members. The Front Desk Receptionist will handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintain visitor logs and records, and support basic clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, photocopying, and handling walk-in registrations. The role also involves coordinating with internal teams to relay messages, supporting front-office events or information sessions, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and student-friendly reception environment.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with students, families, and visitors.
  • Proficiency in receptionist duties, including greeting visitors, managing front desk operations, and maintaining a professional reception area.
  • Effective phone etiquette, including handling high call volumes, routing calls accurately, and taking clear, concise messages.
  • Solid clerical skills such as data entry, filing, record-keeping, basic MS Office or similar tools, and handling routine administrative tasks.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Prior front desk, office assistant, or customer-facing experience in education, hospitality, or service sectors is preferred.
  • Minimum high school diploma; additional training or coursework in office administration or customer service is an advantage.
  • Comfort working with diverse backgrounds and a genuine interest in supporting students’ educational journeys.
