Roles & Responsibilities


  • Create and maintain the game's universe, including its history, cultures, civilizations, factions, geography, mythology, and political landscape.
  • Develop compelling lore that supports gameplay, characters, environments, and future content expansions.
  • Write engaging narratives for the main campaign, side quests, events, and seasonal content.
  • Design memorable characters with distinct personalities, motivations, relationships, and story arcs.
  • Write in-game dialogue, cinematics, cutscenes, tutorials, item descriptions, flavor text, and environmental storytelling.
  • Collaborate with Game Designers to ensure narrative supports gameplay mechanics, progression, and player experience.
  • Work closely with Concept Artists and Art Directors to establish a consistent visual and thematic identity for the game world.
  • Create and maintain narrative documentation, including story bibles, faction guides, character profiles, timelines, location descriptions, and terminology.
  • Design branching dialogue, player choices, and multiple narrative outcomes using tools such as Twine or Articy Draft.
  • Ensure consistency of lore across all game systems, characters, environments, UI text, marketing materials, and live operations.
  • Review and edit narrative content based on design changes, production feedback, and playtesting results.
  • Research mythology, history, science fiction, fantasy, and other reference materials to inspire original world-building concepts.
  • Contribute ideas for new regions, characters, enemies, events, collectibles, and world-expansion content.
  • Collaborate with Localization and QA teams to ensure narrative quality and consistency across all supported languages.
  • Balance storytelling with gameplay, ensuring narrative enhances rather than interrupts the player experience.
  • Maintain organized documentation and version control for all narrative assets throughout development.


Preferred Skills


  • Strong creative writing, storytelling, and world-building abilities.
  • Experience writing for games, interactive media, or branching narratives.
  • Familiarity with narrative design tools such as Twine, Articy Draft, or similar software.
  • Understanding of game development pipelines and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to create consistent lore across multiple content releases.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Passion for fantasy, science fiction, strategy games, RPGs, or collectible card games.
  • Experience using AI-assisted creative tools for ideation and rapid content generation is a plus.
