At Havells – Centre for Research & Innovation (CRI), we are looking for a Head of Strategy to shape the future of our product and technology landscape.
This is a high-impact leadership role, working closely with the CTO to define CRI’s long-term vision, drive innovation across product verticals, and lead our journey in AI, automation, and next-generation technologies. The role will play a critical part in identifying breakthrough products, building external innovation ecosystems, and ensuring strong alignment across business units.

Role Overview
The Head of Strategy will be a key leadership role at CRI, acting as the strategic partner to the CTO and driving long-term vision across all product verticals. The role will anchor strategy formulation, innovation roadmap, and cross-functional alignment to position CRI as a future-ready technology organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Vision
- Define and drive CRI’s 3–5–10 year strategic roadmap
- Translate market and technology trends into actionable plans
- Lead annual strategy reviews and align with business units
2. Technology & Transformation
- Drive AI, automation, and next-gen technology adoption
- Evaluate emerging technologies and build investment roadmap
- Enable transformation across product and engineering teams
3. Product & Growth Strategy
- Define “hero products” and future growth categories
- Lead new product strategy from ideation to go-to-market
- Build and manage a strong innovation pipeline
4. Market Intelligence
- Track global trends in electronics and smart technologies
- Benchmark against competition and identify opportunities
- Provide actionable insights to leadership
5. Ecosystem & Partnerships
- Build partnerships with academia, startups, and R&D ecosystems
- Lead initiatives like Campus Connect for innovation and talent
- Represent CRI in external forums
6. Leadership & Influence
- Drive cross-functional alignment across BUs and SBUs
- Build and mentor strategy/innovation teams
- Act as a thought partner to leadership teams
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of experience in strategy, product, or technology leadership
- Engineering background (mandatory); MBA preferred
- Strong understanding of P&L, product lifecycle, and business strategy
- Experience in electronics, manufacturing, or technology-led organizations
- Proven ability to work with senior leadership and drive transformation
