Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Technician will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems and related equipment throughout the hospital facility. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing system issues, performing preventive maintenance on heating and cooling units, ensuring proper ventilation and indoor air quality, and responding to service requests to minimize downtime and disruption to clinical operations. The technician will coordinate with facility management, other maintenance staff, and external vendors to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based at AstenOrtho in Kozhikode, requiring regular presence in clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital.
Qualifications
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve HVAC system issues using strong Troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of Electricity, including safe handling of electrical components and basic wiring related to HVAC systems.
  • Experience with Preventive Maintenance for heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment in a commercial or healthcare setting.
  • Basic Plumbing skills for handling condensate lines, connections, and related piping in HVAC installations.
  • Relevant EPA or equivalent environmental and refrigerant handling certification, or eligibility/willingness to obtain such certification.
  • Certification, diploma, or vocational training in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, or mechanical trades.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and healthcare facility standards, with the ability to work safely in patient-care environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to follow maintenance schedules and work orders.
  • Capacity to work on-site, respond to urgent maintenance needs, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
