Job Description

Job Title: Homologation Engineer

Location: Ahmedabad

Experience: 2 to 6 years

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage homologation and certification processes for electric two-wheelers, electric three-wheelers, ensuring compliance with AIS, CMVR, BIS, and other relevant regulations.
  • Work closely with testing agencies (ARAI, ICAT, etc.) for vehicle and component approvals.
  • Prepare and submit technical documentation, test reports, and compliance statements for certification approvals.
  • Stay updated on government regulations, industry standards, and certification procedures related to EVs.
  • Coordinate with R&D, design, and manufacturing teams to ensure vehicles meet regulatory requirements from the design stage.
  • Conduct pre-compliance testing and validation before submitting vehicles for official testing.
  • Handle type approval, COP (Conformity of Production), and end-of-life regulations.
  • Liaise with government bodies and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth approval processes.
  • Maintain homologation records and ensure timely renewals and updates as per new regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in homologation, compliance, or regulatory affairs in the automotive or EV industry.
  • Knowledge of AIS, CMVR, BIS, ISO, and other regulatory standards for electric vehicles.
  • Experience working with certification bodies like ARAI, ICAT, and BIS.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle testing, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in documentation, compliance reporting, and regulatory submissions.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with internal teams and external agencies.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in COP audits and type approval processes.
  • Familiarity with battery and component-level certification for EVs.
  • Understanding of global homologation standards (ECE, UN R100, etc.) is a plus.
