Role Description The Human Resources Manager will oversee end-to-end HR operations, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR policy implementation. This full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai involves partnering with leadership to plan workforce needs, support organizational culture, and align HR practices with business goals. The role includes designing and executing HR processes, maintaining employee records, managing payroll coordination and benefits administration in collaboration with relevant teams, and ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws and company standards. The Human Resources Manager will facilitate training and development initiatives, lead engagement activities, handle grievance resolution, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as operations, finance, and creative to support Mortantra’s growth and evolving organizational needs.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skills in talent acquisition, interviewing, and onboarding to build and retain a high-performing team.
  • Experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Ability to manage performance review processes, goal setting, and feedback mechanisms to support employee development.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, labor law compliance, payroll coordination, and benefits administration within the Indian context.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and HRIS or HR software skills for efficient HR operations and reporting.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills to work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a postgraduate HR qualification or certification is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a retail, luxury, fashion, or design-focused environment is beneficial, along with an interest in craft and cultural heritage.
  • Proven ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage multiple priorities, and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
