Hybrid Tester - 1 MMH260506-6

Role Purpose

We are looking for a strong Hybrid Tester who thrives in an Agile Scrum environment and

takes ownership of quality within the team.

This role is not just about executing test cases. It is about understanding the business,

challenging requirements, and ensuring quality is built into the solution from the start.

The successful candidate will perform hands-on manual testing daily, while also

contributing to and maintaining automation using Selenium (Java).

Requirements

• 5+ years in manual testing within Agile Scrum teams
• 2+ years’ experience in automation using Selenium (Java)
• Experience working with:
• Jira (or similar tools)
• Git / version control
• Experience in Insurance or Financial Services is highly advantageous
  
  

Duties and Responsibilities

Agile Testing & Team Collaboration

• Work as a full member of a Scrum team, participating in:
• Backlog refinement
• Sprint planning
• Daily stand-ups
• Sprint reviews
• Actively engage with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to:
• Understand requirements in depth
• Ask relevant, probing questions
• Challenge assumptions and edge cases
  
  

Manual Testing (Primary Focus)

• Design and execute test scenarios based on user stories and acceptance criteria
• Perform:
• Functional testing
• Regression testing
• Integration and end-to-end testing
• Ensure full understanding of impact across systems, especially downstream

• Identify gaps in requirements and raise risks early
• Own defect lifecycle (logging, tracking, retesting)
  
  

Automation Testing

• Build and maintain automated test scripts using:
• Selenium with Java
• Identify opportunities for automation within regression suites
• Ensure automation is stable, maintainable, and aligned to CI/CD pipelines
• Contribute to improving test coverage and reducing manual regression effort over

Domain & Business Understanding

• Develop strong knowledge of:
• Insurance / Employee Benefits domain
• Business processes and data flows
• Understand how changes impact:
• Upstream and downstream systems
• Client experience and operational processes
• Use this understanding to improve test quality and coverage
  
  

Quality Ownership

• Take accountability for quality within the team; not just testing tasks
• Ensure acceptance criteria are clear, complete, and testable
• Work closely with developers to prevent defects early (shift-left mindset)
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices
