Role Purpose

The Insight & Research Executive will support the delivery of high-quality customer, shopper and market insight across Musgrave’s brands, helping the team turn research, data and feedback into clear, actionable outputs for commercial, brand, proposition and customer experience decisions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Research Project Support
  • Support the planning, set-up and delivery of qualitative and quantitative research projects, including surveys, focus groups, customer interviews, shop-alongs, online communities and concept testing.
  • Help translate business questions into clear research briefs, discussion guides, questionnaires and project timelines.
  • Coordinate fieldwork logistics, agency inputs, stakeholder requirements and internal deadlines to ensure projects run smoothly and on time.
  • Insight Synthesis & Reporting
  • Analyse and summarise findings from research studies, shopper feedback, market reports, competitor activity, trend sources and internal data.
  • Support the creation of clear, concise outputs that explain what is happening, why it matters and what action teams should take.
  • Help prepare presentation decks, debrief notes, one-page summaries and leadership-ready insight updates.
  • Stakeholder & Business Support
  • Support insight delivery for Marketing, Trading, Operations, Format, Proposition and Customer Experience teams.
  • Help prepare inputs for brand standbacks, occasion reviews, customer experience work, value perception updates and strategic planning sessions.
  • Capture stakeholder actions, follow-ups and decisions to ensure insight work translates into practical next steps.
  • Agency, Data & Insight Source Management
  • Coordinate with research agencies and insight partners, including briefing, meeting set-up, material sharing, timelines and output management.
  • Maintain organised insight libraries, project trackers, debrief calendars and key source materials so the team can easily access and reuse learning.
  • Support the use of sources such as Nielsen, Kantar, IGD, Shopper Intelligence, customer feedback tools, competitor monitoring and trend reports.
  • Team Ways of Working & Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to improving team templates, reporting formats, project processes and insight sharing routines.
  • Bring curiosity, structure and attention to detail to every project, ensuring outputs are accurate, well-organised and easy to act on.
  • Stay close to emerging research methods, AI-enabled tools, retail trends and shopper behaviour developments that could improve the team’s impact.


Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong interest in customer, shopper, market and brand insight, ideally with 3 year experience in retail, FMCG, research, analytics or marketing.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret information from multiple sources and identify the key message.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise and visually structured outputs.
  • Highly organised, with strong project coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Confident using PowerPoint, Excel and insight/reporting tools; comfortable learning new platforms and AI-enabled ways of working.
