Role Description This is a Part-time, off-site role for a Japanese Language Tutor. The tutor will conduct interactive, level-appropriate Japanese language classes focused on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, using structured lesson plans aligned with the OZI Learning Method. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing teaching materials, delivering one-to-one or small-group sessions, assigning and reviewing practice work, and providing clear feedback to support continuous improvement. The tutor will track learner progress through assessments, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with the academic team to refine learning strategies and address individual needs. The role also includes communicating regularly with mentors and support staff to ensure a high-quality learning experience and positive outcomes for all learners.

Qualifications

  • Strong command of Japanese language (preferably JLPT N2 or above) and the ability to teach grammar, vocabulary, kanji, and conversational skills clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching or tutoring Japanese, with skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and learner assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage learners of different ages, levels, and backgrounds in a respectful and inclusive manner.
  • Ability to use structured teaching methods, diagnostic assessments, and individualized learning plans to support diverse learning styles and goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Languages, Education, or a related field; formal training in Japanese language teaching or education is an advantage.
  • Comfort with basic digital tools for scheduling, progress tracking, and content sharing; openness to continuous learning and pedagogical improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a learner-centric mindset aligned with mentorship-driven, personalized education.
