Role Description The Knitting Merchandiser role at ninen is a full-time, on-site position based in Ludhiana. The Knitting Merchandiser will coordinate between design, production, and vendors to develop knit loungewear products that align with brand standards for comfort, style, and fit. Daily responsibilities include planning and sourcing yarns and fabrics, following up on sampling and approvals, monitoring production timelines, and ensuring quality and consistency across styles. The role involves maintaining accurate product data, analyzing costs and margins, and supporting inventory planning to meet market demand. The Knitting Merchandiser will also collaborate closely with the design and sales teams to translate trends and feedback into commercially viable knit collections.

Qualifications

  • Strong product development and merchandising skills for knitted garments, including experience with yarn selection, fabric construction, and fit coordination.
  • Knowledge of loungewear or casualwear segments, with the ability to interpret fashion trends and consumer preferences into market-ready knit styles.
  • Proficiency in production coordination, including vendor communication, sampling follow-up, timeline tracking, and basic costing and pricing.
  • Solid understanding of quality standards for knitted products, including measurements, finishing, and durability, with attention to detail in approvals.
  • Comfort with data management and basic analysis, using tools such as Excel or similar software for order tracking, inventory support, and cost comparison.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with design, production, and sales teams, and to maintain clear documentation and reports.
  • Ability to work on-site in Ludhiana, manage multiple styles and seasons simultaneously, and adapt to a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Diploma or degree in textiles, fashion, apparel merchandising, or a related field, with prior experience in knitting or garment merchandising preferred.
