Lead SoftwareEngineer Cloud IOT

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer with deep expertise in AWS IoT backend development to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing IoT solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in architecting and implementing AWS IoT solutions, along with the leadership potential to grow into a managerial role.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to define IoT software architecture, drive technical excellence, manage delivery timelines, and mentor engineers—while contributing strategically to the growth of IoT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

IoT Solution Design & Development

• Architect and implement end-to-end IoT solutions, focusing on device connectivity, data ingestion, processing, and analytics (software-focused; not hardware/PCB).
• Develop robust backend services using AWS IoT Core, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, AWS Greengrass, and frameworks such as AWS CDK and Serverless Framework.
• Optimize cloud and edge computing strategies for cost-effective, high-performance data processing.

Security & Standards

• Implement IoT security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and data privacy.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance by defining and enforcing software development standards.

Leadership & Team Collaboration

• Lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.
• Guide cross-functional teams in resolving technical challenges.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and operations to ensure seamless IoT integration.
• Demonstrate managerial potential by influencing strategic decisions and supporting team growth.

End to End Delivery

• Own and manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle—from requirements gathering to production rollout.
• Provide accurate planning, effort estimation, and scheduling for project deliverables.
• Ensure timely delivery of milestones, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication throughout the lifecycle.
• Apply agile methodologies to manage sprints, track progress, and drive iterative improvements.

Innovation & Optimization

• Stay current with industry trends and emerging IoT technologies.
• Conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) projects to evaluate new frameworks or services and integrate them into production solutions.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to align IoT software solutions with business objectives.
• Effectively communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

• Proven expertise in AWS IoT backend development and cloud integration: IoT Core, Lambda, DynamoDB, AWS Greengrass, Serverless Frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of IoT protocols: MQTT, HTTPS, Matter.
• Experience with large-scale OTA deployments, real-time analytics, and edge computing.
• Proficiency in programming languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
• Solid understanding of networking technologies: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
• Familiarity with IoT security frameworks and compliance standards.

Leadership, Project Management & Communication

• Strong team leadership, mentorship, and collaboration skills.
• Experience in project planning, effort estimation, and full-cycle delivery.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and drive decision-making in complex product environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• AWS Certifications: Solutions Architect, IoT Specialty (preferred).
• Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.
