Machine Learning Lead

Qualifying Degree: B.Tech from Tier 1 Institute | Total Experience: 10+ years Location: Bengaluru, WFO Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete an assignment as part of the selection process.

This role is for an experienced ML leader who will drive the machine learning roadmap across Hoomanely's sensor-driven product ecosystem, with a strong focus on digital signal processing, audio signal analysis, and accelerometer data analysis. The ideal candidate will have led ML teams and taken models from research to production, building innovative solutions including CNNs, RNNs, GANs, LLMs, and low-rank adaptation techniques, while setting technical direction and mentoring a growing team of ML engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• ML Strategy and Roadmap: Define and drive the machine learning roadmap across the product ecosystem, aligning model development with business and product priorities.
• Custom ML Model Development: Lead the design and development of custom machine learning models from scratch, tailored to digital and audio signal processing and accelerometer data analysis. Candidates should have published papers or demonstrable custom-built models for specific problem domains.
• Advanced ML Techniques: Guide the application of advanced techniques, including time series analysis, CNNs, RNNs, GANs, LLMs, and low-rank adaptation, to solve complex problems in pet wellness technology.
• Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a team of machine learning engineers, setting technical standards and fostering a culture of rigorous experimentation.
• Data Analysis and Processing: Oversee sophisticated data analysis and preprocessing pipelines to prepare datasets for machine learning applications at scale.
• MLOps and Model Deployment: Establish MLOps practices and infrastructure to streamline the deployment of machine learning models into production, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Performance Optimization: Set benchmarks and processes for continuously monitoring and optimizing ML models to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and data science leadership to integrate ML models into Hoomanely's product ecosystem.
• Research and Innovation: Stay ahead of the latest developments in machine learning and signal processing, and drive a culture of research and innovation within the company.

Qualifications:

• Education and Experience: B.Tech in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a Tier 1 engineering institute (IIT, NIT, BITS Pilani, or equivalent) is mandatory, with 10+ years of proven experience building custom ML models, including for digital signal processing, audio signal analysis, or accelerometer data analysis.
• Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading and growing ML teams, with a track record of taking models from research into production.
• Technical Depth: Strong knowledge of time series based machine learning, CNNs, RNNs, GANs, LLMs, and low-rank adaptation techniques.
• MLOps: Deep experience with MLOps practices and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
• Tools: Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages (Python).
• Other: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in pet wellness or related industries.
• Familiarity with IoT device data processing and analysis.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services for ML deployment.
• Published research or patents in applied machine learning.
