We have an opportunity of Manager - HR Technology & AI for our Co-Working Space Client based in Gurgaon.

Job Title: Manager - HR Technology & AI

Reporting to: CHRO

Location: Gurgaon

Role Overview

We are looking for a Manager — HR Technology & AI who brings two capabilities together in one role: the ability to own and drive HR Technology end-to-end, and the ability to layer AI-enabled tools and automation on top of the HR technology stack to improve service delivery, reduce manual effort, and enhance the employee experience.

Reporting to the CHRO, this person will serve as the internal owner of Smartworks' HR technology ecosystem — working closely with HR, IT, and business leadership to build a connected, scalable, and intelligent HR function.

Key Responsibilities

HRMS Implementation & System Ownership

  • Lead end-to-end HR Technology or upgrade projects — from requirements gathering and vendor evaluation through configuration, UAT, go-live, and post-implementation stabilisation.
  • Own the HRMS as the system of record for all people data — ensuring data integrity, workflow accuracy, and complete module coverage across Core HR, Payroll, Leave & Attendance, Performance Management, Recruitment, and Learning & Development.
  • Configure and maintain system workflows, approval hierarchies, role-based access controls, and business rules aligned to Smartworks' HR policies and evolving organisational structure.
  • Manage HRMS vendor relationships and SLAs; own the product roadmap for system enhancements and new module rollouts.
  • Build internal HR team capability on HRMS usage — reducing dependence on external support for day-to-day system administration and empowering HR teams to self-serve.
  • AI, Automation & Digital HR Solutions

A significant and growing part of this role will be identifying where AI and automation can add measurable value to HR operations and employee experience — and then designing, deploying, and scaling those solutions. The following represent the kinds of initiatives this role will own and drive:

Stakeholder Management

Must Have

Post Graduate / MBA in HR, Information Technology, or a related discipline from a recognised institute.

  • 5–8 years of experience — with a clear, demonstrable track record of owning HR Technology (not support) as the primary stakeholder on at least one full-cycle implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major HRMS platform — Darwinbox, SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle HCM, Keka, or equivalent — in an implementation and configuration capacity.
  • Practical experience deploying AI or automation tools for HR use cases — chatbots, workflow automation, or intelligent screening. The candidate should have seen at least one such initiative through from design to adoption.
  • Deep understanding of core HR processes across the hire-to-retire lifecycle — the person must understand the process thoroughly before they can automate it effectively.
  • Structured, analytical thinker — comfortable with data, system logic, and translating business needs into functional requirements.
  • Good to Have

Familiarity with AI-assisted recruitment tools — HireVue, iCIMS AI, or ATS-integrated screening platforms.

  • Exposure to RPA or workflow automation tools — Power Automate, UiPath, or similar.
  • Experience building HR analytics dashboards on Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a fast-growth, multi-location organisation where HR Technology was executed under the pressure of rapid scale.
