About Our Client

Our client is one of India's largest Cold Storage and Controlled Atmosphere facility operators. They have a fully integrated cold chain from farm to retail with Pan-India marketing and distribution network.

Job Description

Operate, monitor, and maintain Controlled Atmosphere (CA) storage systems to ensure optimal gas composition (O2, CO2, N2) for apple and fruit preservation.
Oversee day-to-day operation of refrigeration systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and associated controls; ensure temperature and humidity targets are consistently met.
Operate and manage apple Sorting/ grading packing, MAF machine and related equipment in coordination with the packhouse team.
Lead all preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for mechanical plant and equipment including refrigeration units, compressors, cold room doors, conveyor systems, and packhouse machinery.
Provide overall supervision of the technical team; assign daily and weekly tasks, monitor execution, and ensure adherence to SOPs and safety protocols.
Coordinate with internal team members (operations, quality, logistics) and external vendors/contractors for any assigned technical or maintenance tasks.
Maintain detailed maintenance logs, equipment history cards, and spare parts inventory; ensure critical spares are always in stock.
Prepare and present daily/weekly technical reports to the Plant Head / GM Operations.
Manage AMC vendors and third-party service providers; evaluate their performance and ensure service quality.
Train and develop junior technical staff and operators to build team capability.

The Successful Applicant

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university (mandatory).
Minimum 10 years of experience in cold chain, food processing, horticulture post-harvest, or industrial refrigeration plant operations.
Demonstrated hands-on experience operating CA (Controlled Atmosphere) stores and refrigeration systems.
Proven experience operating and troubleshooting MAF / Sorting grading/packaging machines.
Strong knowledge of refrigeration thermodynamics, compressor systems, cooling tower operations, and AMC management.
Ability to work in remote hill station environments; must be willing to be stationed at Rampur, Himachal Pradesh.
