The Role

This is not a button-clicking, rate-card-reading media job.

As Media Planner at Hikaya, you will own the research, planning, and execution of offline media campaigns targeting UK audiences — with a specific focus on Outdoor, Radio, Print, and Digital Publications.

You'll be the bridge between client ambition and supplier reality: sourcing, negotiating, and building media plans that actually move the needle. You'll work remotely from India, embedded in a fast-moving team that holds itself to a higher standard.


What You'll Do

  • Plan and execute offline media campaigns across OOH, Radio, Print, and Digital Publications for UK-market clients
  • Source, evaluate, and onboard new media suppliers across the UK — building a live, working supplier network from the ground up
  • Reach out directly to suppliers, negotiate rates, and manage media relationships with professionalism and commercial sharpness
  • Develop strategic media recommendations grounded in audience insight, channel logic, and budget efficiency
  • Prepare media plans, proposals, and post-campaign reports that clients and internal stakeholders can act on
  • Stay sharp on the UK media landscape — tracking inventory trends, new formats, and emerging opportunities
  • Collaborate with the wider Hikaya team on integrated pitches and cross-channel campaigns


What You Bring

  • 2–3 years of hands-on media planning experience, with a clear focus on offline channels — OOH, Radio, Print, and/or Digital Publications
  • Familiarity with the UK media landscape, including key publishers, outdoor contractors, and radio networks
  • Confidence in direct supplier outreach — you're comfortable cold-calling a radio station or emailing a billboard owner
  • Strong commercial instinct: you understand what makes a media plan efficient, and what makes it powerful
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Clear, professional written communication — your emails represent a brand, and you know it
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for media planning and cost tracking.


Nice to Have

  • Prior experience working on UK campaigns from a remote or international base
  • Existing relationships with UK OOH, Radio, or Print suppliers
  • Exposure to media agency workflows — vendor briefings, flowcharts, post-buy analysis
