Job Title: Network Security Engineer – L1

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 3-5 Years (L1)

Shift: 24x7 Rotational Support

Job Summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated L1 Network Security Engineers to join our SOC/NOC operations team in Mumbai. The candidate will be responsible for basic monitoring, alert handling, troubleshooting, and operational support for Firewall, DDoS, and IDS/IPS security environments.

Freshers with internship/project experience in cybersecurity or networking are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities Firewall Monitoring & Support

• Monitor firewall devices such as:
• Cisco Firewall
• Palo Alto
• Check Point
• Fortinet
• Perform basic troubleshooting for firewall-related alerts and connectivity issues
• Escalate critical incidents to L2/L3 teams
  

DDoS Monitoring

• Monitor DDoS protection tools and ISP-based mitigation solutions
• Support platforms like:
• Radware
• ISP DDoS protection solutions
• Identify abnormal traffic spikes and raise incidents as per SOP
  

IDS/IPS Operations

• Monitor IDS/IPS alerts and security events
• Basic exposure to:
• Trend Micro
• Cisco IDS/IPS
• Perform initial alert validation and ticket creation
  

Incident & Ticket Management

• Handle incidents through ticketing tools
• Follow escalation matrix and operational procedures
• Ensure SLA adherence for ticket updates and closures
  
  

Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor network/security dashboards and alerts
• Generate basic operational reports
• Maintain daily activity logs and incident documentation
  
  

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of:
• Networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, DHCP)
• Firewall technologies
• IDS/IPS concepts
• DDoS attacks and mitigation basics
• Knowledge of security monitoring tools is an advantage
• Familiarity with Windows/Linux basics preferred
  

Preferred Qualifications

• B.E / B.Tech / BSc IT / BCA / MCA or equivalent
• Certifications preferred (optional):
• CCNA
• CEH
• Fortinet NSE
• Palo Alto fundamentals
• Internship or project experience in NOC/SOC preferred
  

Soft Skills

• Good communication and troubleshooting skills
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts
• Quick learner with positive attitude
• Ability to work in a team environment
