Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Operations Theatre Technician based in Gurdaspur. The Operations Theatre Technician will prepare operating rooms before procedures, including arranging instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies according to surgical requirements. The role involves assisting surgical teams during operations, maintaining sterile fields, managing lighting and technical equipment, and ensuring proper functioning of all theatre devices. Responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting, and resetting theatres between cases, monitoring inventory of medical supplies, and safely handling surgical instruments and consumables. The technician will collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other clinical staff, follow infection control protocols, and support a calm, professional environment for patients before and after procedures.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong technical skills related to theatre operations, including equipment handling and technical production of a safe and efficient operating environment.
  • Candidates should be able to manage theatre lighting and related visual equipment to support surgical visibility and safety.
  • Candidates should demonstrate excellent customer service skills, including empathetic communication with patients and effective collaboration with clinical teams.
  • Candidates should have the ability to support structured procedures with discipline and focus, similar to performing arts in terms of coordination, timing, and teamwork under pressure.
  • Relevant diploma or certification in Operation Theatre Technology or a related healthcare field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control, sterilization techniques, and theatre safety protocols is required.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work flexible hours as per surgery schedules are important.
  • Prior experience in an operating theatre or surgical environment will be considered an advantage.
