Payroll Officer - Australia Payroll Specialist

Hotwire Asia Pacific is looking for an Australian Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll, People & Culture team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for accuracy, compliance, and delivering an excellent employee experience. You will play a key role in supporting payroll operations across our Australian businesses, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with Australian payroll legislation.

• Processing fortnightly and monthly Australian payrolls from end to end
• Setting up new employees and maintaining employee records
• Processing payroll changes, leave entitlements, and payroll adjustments
• Following up on timesheets and payroll-related documentation
• Assisting with parental leave payments and payroll reconciliations
• Responding to employee payroll and salary enquiries
• Ensuring compliance with payroll, taxation, superannuation, and statutory requirements
• Supporting payroll improvement initiatives and People & Culture projects

• 2-5 years of end-to-end payroll experience
• Experience with Australian payroll preferred
• Understanding of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, leave entitlements, and payroll compliance requirements
• Experience with payroll or HRIS systems (HR3 experience is advantageous but not essential)
• Basic to intermediate Excel skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work independently
