About AIMS Institutes

AIMS Institutes, Bangalore, is one of South India's most respected educational institutions with over three decades of academic legacy. Offering a diverse portfolio of UG and PG programs in Management, Commerce, Computer Applications, and allied disciplines, AIMS has consistently produced industry-ready graduates. Our Placements & Industry Relations division is the bridge between academic excellence and professional success — and we are now seeking a powerhouse Placements Executive to take our placement outcomes to new heights.

Role Overview

The Placements Executive will be the primary driver of student employment outcomes at AIMS Institutes. This is a high-impact, relationship-intensive role that demands a proactive, resourceful, and highly networked professional. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of delivering outstanding placement and internship results, a deep understanding of the Indian corporate hiring landscape, and a robust network of 300+ industry connects spanning sectors and geographies across India.

This is not a back-office role — it requires a hustler's mindset, a consultant's relationship skills, and a data-driven approach to achieving ambitious placement targets year-on-year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate Outreach & Industry Relations
  • Proactively engage and expand a network of 300+ active corporate partners across sectors such as BFSI, IT/ITeS, FMCG, Consulting, Retail, E-commerce, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Logistics — across Pan India.
  • Initiate, build, and sustain long-term relationships with HR heads, Talent Acquisition teams, Business Leaders, and CXOs of partner companies.
  • Identify and onboard new recruiters each placement season — targeting at least 80–100 new companies annually.
  • Attend industry events, job fairs, HR conclaves, CII/FICCI/NASSCOM events, and campus recruitment summits to strengthen AIMS' corporate footprint.
  • Develop and pitch customized placement proposals to corporates, highlighting the talent pool and academic strengths of AIMS students.
  • Placement & Internship Execution
  • Achieve and exceed annual placement targets — targeting 90%+ placement rate across all eligible batches.
  • Drive internship placements for all programs, ensuring a minimum of 200+ internship opportunities per academic year across industries.
  • Coordinate and execute campus recruitment drives — on-campus, off-campus, and virtual — with seamless logistics and communication.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment cycles: company registration, JD sharing, shortlisting, pre-placement talks, aptitude tests, GDs, interviews, and offer letter collection.
  • Maintain a live placement tracker covering company-wise, program-wise, and student-wise placement data with real-time updates.
  • Student Readiness & Development
  • Collaborate with academic departments to align curriculum with industry expectations and hiring trends.
  • Design and conduct Corporate Readiness Programs including resume writing workshops, LinkedIn profile building, mock interviews, group discussion training, and business etiquette sessions.
  • Identify student strengths and weaknesses through profiling and match students to the right job roles and companies.
  • Counsel and mentor students on career choices, job market realities, and professional development strategies.
  • Monitor student attendance and participation in placement preparation activities, flagging and supporting at-risk students proactively.
  • Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs) & Campus Events
  • Schedule and coordinate Pre-Placement Talks from leading companies across sectors for final year students.
  • Organize annual Placement Fairs, Industry Interface Programs, Guest Lectures, and Corporate Mentorship initiatives.
  • Facilitate MoUs and long-term recruitment partnerships with top-tier and emerging companies.
  • Coordinate with marketing for employer branding campaigns and placement achievement communications.
  • Data, Reporting & Analytics
  • Maintain comprehensive, real-time placement records — including offers, CTCs, sectors, roles, and company tiers — for all batches.
  • Generate weekly and monthly placement dashboards for the management, highlighting progress against targets.
  • Track year-on-year trends in hiring, average CTC, sector diversity, and internship conversion rates.
  • Benchmark AIMS placement outcomes against peer institutions and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Alumni & Lateral Engagement
  • Leverage the AIMS alumni network as a referral and recruitment channel — converting alumni into campus recruiters.
  • Build and manage an active alumni-employer database segmented by industry, designation, and location.
  • Facilitate lateral hiring opportunities for alumni and maintain long-term engagement through placement-related events.

Education Industry Knowledge – What We Expect

The ideal candidate must demonstrate deep familiarity with the Indian higher education and campus recruitment ecosystem:

  • Strong understanding of placement cycles and batch readiness timelines.
  • Awareness of sectoral hiring trends — IT, BFSI, consulting, core engineering, and e-commerce— and how they map to AIMS' program portfolio.
  • Knowledge of compensation benchmarks, role hierarchies, and entry-level job expectations across industries.
  • Familiarity with AICTE, UGC, and state university regulations governing internships and campus placements.
  • Experience working with placement management software, ATS platforms, and CRM tools used in education institutions.
  • Understanding of the competitive placement landscape among Bangalore-based B-schools and professional colleges.

Mandatory: 300+ Pan-India Industry Connect Requirement

Candidates Must Demonstrate

  • A verified, active network of 300 or more corporate contacts spanning HR, Talent Acquisition, and business hiring functions across India.
  • Connects distributed across at least 5–6 sectors (e.g., IT, BFSI, FMCG, Consulting, Retail, Manufacturing) and multiple geographies (Metro + Tier 2 cities).
  • Demonstrated ability to convert connects into recruitment partnerships resulting in offers and internships for students.
  • Willingness to share a corporate connect list / reference list as part of the interview and selection process.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MBA / PGDM (HR, Marketing, or General Management) from a recognized institution — preferred.
  • 3–7 years of experience in campus placements, corporate relations, or talent acquisition, with at least 2 years in an educational institution or placement consultancy.
  • Demonstrated track record of placing 100+ students per year with measurable outcomes.
