We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to support our business development efforts.

As part of the procurement team, the position shall be responsible to support Head of Procurement in managing end-to-end procurement for all Agni Solar projects — rooftop and solar park — ensuring materials are available at site on time, within budget, and to specification. This is a learning role with a clear growth path: the right person will progressively take over vendor management, negotiations, and eventually procurement leadership as Agni scales.

The role shall report to the Head of Procurement and the Job Location shall be Pune, Maharashtra

Key Responsibilities

Solar equipment procurement (modules, inverters, mounting structures, BOS)

• Obtain and compare vendor quotes for modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, and BOS items under Ajit's guidance

• Track purchase orders from placement to site delivery; update procurement tracker daily

• Coordinate with Design team to ensure BOQ accuracy before any PO is raised

• Document savings achieved vs market benchmark for every major procurement

• Maintain approved vendor list for technical items; flag quality issues immediately to Head of Procurement

Civil, structural & local procurement

• Source civil contractors, structural fabricators, and local material suppliers for each project site

• Obtain min 3 competitive quotes for all civil/structural items above ₹50,000 in value

• Coordinate site deliveries with the Project Engineer to ensure zero work stoppages

• Manage local labour contracts and site consumables within approved budgets

• Travel to project sites (across India) for material inspection and delivery coordination

Vendor management & development

• Maintain vendor database with pricing history, delivery performance, and quality scores

• Identify and onboard 2–3 new vendors per quarter across categories — reduce single-vendor dependency

• Flag vendor performance issues (late delivery, quality rejection) within 24 hours to Head of Procurement

• Support annual vendor review process with documented scorecards

Documentation & compliance

• Ensure all POs, delivery challans, and invoices are filed in the system within 24 hours of receipt

• Coordinate with Finance for GST-compliant invoicing and timely vendor payments

• Maintain warranty documentation, AMC records, and compliance certificates for all procured equipment

• Ensure 0 billing delays attributable to procurement — material availability confirmed before Finance raises milestone invoice

Desired Skills and Qualification

• 1–4 years of experience in procurement — solar, electrical, construction, or manufacturing sector

• Basic technical literacy: able to read a BOQ, compare technical specifications, and understand solar BOS components

• Strong vendor negotiation skills — comfortable running a competitive quote process independently

• Proficient in Excel for purchase tracking, cost comparison, and variance reporting

• Organised and process-driven: zero tolerance for missing documents or untracked POs

• Diploma / BTech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering — or Commerce graduate with strong procurement experience

• Prior experience in solar EPC procurement — modules, inverters, mounting structures shall be preferred

• Familiarity with Pune/Maharashtra vendor ecosystem for civil and electrical contracting shall be preferred

• Experience with Tally or any ERP for purchase order management shall be preferred
