Product Engineer
Newen Systems Pvt. Ltd.
Job Description
Role Purpose
The Product Integrity Engineer — E&E is the analytical conscience of product quality within the Integrity Team. This role exists to build quality into every Newen power electronics product — not inspect it in — by connecting Field insights, Floor data and R&D decisions through intelligence-driven action. The incumbent will serve as the quality bridge between product development and manufacturing, driving Built-in Quality as a culture across Inverters, Chargers, and BMS platforms.
Key Responsibilities
01 | Analytics Engine — Prime Accountability
• Drive failure trend analysis across DVT/EVT/PVT test data and field returns for E&E products
• Mine reliability data from field returns, warranty claims, and customer feedback to generate actionable
design insights
• Build and maintain quality intelligence dashboards — presenting failure modes, escape rates, and reliability
trends to leadership
• Interpret DVT/EVT/PVT test results and translate technical data into design risk assessments and
improvement recommendations
• Perform DFMEA and PFMEA reviews using data-driven analysis rather than assumption-based
assessments
• Generate periodic quality reports with trend analysis to support world-class quality goals
02 | Built-in Quality — R&D & Product Development Interface
• Participate in design gate reviews (DVT, EVT, PVT) with a quality lens — moderate engagement, not full
embedding
• Assess drawings and perform gap analysis against applicable quality and compliance requirements
• Verify and sign off on design release documents for E&E products (Inverters, Chargers, BMS)
• Drive APQP process compliance for new product introductions in the power electronics domain
• Coordinate PPAP submissions and ensure design intent is faithfully translated into production processes
• Validate alternate components — component qualification and reliability assessment
• Challenge R&D decisions with data — influence without authority when field or floor evidence points to
design risk
03 | Floor & Field Feedback Loop — Closed-Loop Execution
• Translate floor non-conformances and field failure data into structured design improvement actions
• Facilitate and close Material Review Board (MRB) meetings for E&E related NCRs
• Partner with manufacturing quality teams (DRISHTI) to ensure floor learnings are fed back into design
• Lead root cause analysis (8D, Fishbone, 5-Why) for recurring E&E failures, ensuring permanent corrective
actions
• Track and verify effectiveness of corrective actions through data — not just closure acknowledgement
04 | Compliance Awareness & Standards Interface
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable E&E standards — IEC, IS, BIS, CE, UL — as relevant to power
electronics products
• Coordinate with external certification labs and internal teams for compliance testing activities
• Interpret test reports and identify compliance gaps requiring design or process corrections
• Support compliance management activities — not independently owning submissions, but ensuring quality
inputs are complete and accurate
05 | Organisational Quality Contribution
• Support to develop and maintain SOPs and Work Methods for Design Quality processes within the Integrity
Team
• Support SQA team audit activities with data and documentation for E&E related scope
• Participate in supplier quality audits with focus on E&E component and PCBA suppliers
• Contribute to manufacturing quality improvement initiatives by providing design quality perspective
• Build a challenger mindset — constructively question, validate through data, and advocate for quality with
confidence
Skills & Competencies
Technical — Prime
• Data analytics for quality: failure trend analysis, reliability data mining, test data interpretation
• Quality intelligence reporting: dashboards, KPI tracking, executive-level quality briefs
• APQP / PPAP — end-to-end process knowledge for E&E product introductions
• DFMEA & PFMEA — data-driven review and development experience
• Power electronics product knowledge: Inverters, Battery Chargers, BMS — design & test understanding
• Electrical drawing review, BOM analysis, and design gap assessment
• Root cause analysis tools: 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Is/Is-Not
Standards & Compliance — Working Knowledge
• IEC standards relevant to power electronics and energy storage systems
• IS / BIS certification requirements for Indian market products
• CE / UL — awareness of scope, test requirements and certification process
• ISO 9001 Quality Management System principles
Behavioural — non-negotiable
• Challenger mindset — ability to influence R&D and cross-functional teams through data and conviction
• Intrapreneurial drive — ownership of quality outcomes beyond assigned task boundaries
• Analytical rigour — structured thinking, evidence-based conclusions
• Communication — ability to translate technical quality data into business-relevant insights
• Cross-functional collaboration — effective working with R&D, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and CX
teams
Tools & Software
• MS Excel (Advanced) — data analysis, pivot tables, trend charts
• Power BI / Tableau or equivalent — quality dashboard development preferred
• MS Office Suite — Word, PowerPoint for documentation and reporting
• ERP / QMS platforms or equivalent exposure
• AutoCAD / E-CAD — for drawing review purposes
Qualifications & Experience
• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or Power Electronics
• 8 to 12 years of experience in E&E Design Quality, Product Quality, or Reliability Engineering roles
• Demonstrated experience in power electronics products — Inverters, Chargers, BMS or similar energy
products strongly preferred
• Hands-on exposure to DVT/EVT/PVT quality activities in a product development environment
• Prior experience with APQP/PPAP processes in an E&E manufacturing organisation
- • Supplier quality or audit exposure in E&E / PCBA domain is an advantage
