QA Automation Engineer (Revenue Pod)

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and AI-forward QA Automation Engineer to join our dedicated Revenue Pod. Working in a tight-knit, agile trio alongside a Lead Developer and a Developer, you will be the absolute gatekeeper for quality on all revenue-critical features within the UFP ecosystem.

Unlike traditional QA roles, this position demands an "AI-first" mindset. You will leverage AI tools like Cursor to accelerate test creation and optimize coverage. Your core focus will be robust API automation, extensive backend validation, and end-to-end (E2E) UI testing across our web (Angular) and mobile (Flutter) applications. Because you are testing revenue-generating systems, precision, security, and an understanding of financial data flows are paramount.

Responsibilities

API Testing & Automation (Core Focus)

• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive API test automation suites.
• Act as the resident expert in Postman, validating complex RESTful APIs, payload structures, and microservices interactions (e.g., .NET backends).
• Ensure data integrity and security for all billing, invoicing, and revenue-related data flows.

Payment Gateway Integration Testing

• Rigorously test integrations with primary payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Razorpay).
• Validate complex financial workflows, including recurring billing cycles, webhook processing, asynchronous payment confirmations, and edge cases (e.g., failed payments, refunds, proration).

AI-Driven Quality Assurance

• Actively use AI-assisted development tools (such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Gemini) to write, refactor, and maintain test scripts faster and more efficiently.
• Prompt and leverage AI to generate edge-case scenarios, dummy data, and complex test architectures.

End-to-End (E2E) Automation

• Build and maintain scalable automated E2E test scripts using Playwright for web applications.
• Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure seamless workflows across the platform.

Agile Pod Collaboration

• Work directly with 1 Lead Developer and 1 Developer in the Revenue Pod to integrate testing continuously into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Participate in architectural discussions to ensure new revenue features are built with testability and financial security in mind from day one.

Release & Defect Management

• Conduct exploratory and manual testing when necessary for new, complex workflows before they are automated.
• Manage test cycles, certify staging environments, and perform production smoke testing for financial/revenue releases.
• Track defects rigorously and collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.

Qualifications

• Test Automation: Strong, hands-on expertise with Playwright for web automation.
• API Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Postman and REST API automation testing. Deep understanding of HTTP protocols, status codes, and JSON validations.
• Payment Systems Experience: Proven experience testing payment gateways (Stripe, Razorpay, etc.), managing webhooks, and understanding asynchronous financial transactions.
• AI Tooling: Proven experience using AI coding assistants (like Cursor) to enhance productivity, write automated tests, or generate QA documentation.
• Tech Stack Familiarity: Experience testing in modern application environments (e.g., C#/.NET backends, Angular frontends, and Flutter mobile apps).
• Team Dynamics: Proven ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced pod structure, taking complete ownership of the QA lifecycle with a high degree of accountability.
