Key Responsibilities

  • New Product Development (NPD)
  • Lead end-to-end development of convenience food and beverage products—from concept to commercialization.
  • Develop innovative formulations based on customer briefs, market trends, and business needs.
  • Optimize recipes for taste, nutrition, shelf life, functionality, and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking to identify innovation opportunities.
  • Prototype and present solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commercialization & Scale-up
  • Drive pilot trials and commercial production runs at manufacturing partner facilities.
  • Ensure seamless technology transfer from lab-scale development to full-scale production.
  • Standardize manufacturing processes, parameters, and product specifications.
  • Resolve technical challenges during scale-up and commercialization.
  • Coordinate successful first commercial production runs.
  • Customer & Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development to understand and translate customer requirements.
  • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
  • Provide end-to-end technical support across the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Manufacturing partners to ensure successful launches.
  • Quality & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI and all applicable food safety regulations.
  • Develop product specifications, SOPs, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate stability studies and shelf-life validation.
  • Maintain consistent product quality during commercialization.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Food R&D, with demonstrable expertise in new product development (NPD) and successful commercialization.
  • Proven experience developing and launching convenience food and beverage products—this is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of food formulation, process optimization, and sensory evaluation.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with direct accountability for project outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, CDMO/CRDMO, contract manufacturing, or food ingredient companies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks beyond FSSAI (e.g., export markets, FDA, EFSA)
