React Developer

About The Role

We are looking for a Frontend Developer with approximately 2 years of professional experience to join the team building Stratify, our timesheet and project-management web application. You will work within an established Next.js/MUI codebase, shipping features across timesheets, task/project tracking, workload views, and team access control—collaborating closely with a small team that values clean, consistent conventions over clever one-offs.

This is a hands-on execution role: you will spend most of your time building UI, wiring it to existing data hooks, and fitting new work into patterns the codebase has already established—not architecting from scratch.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain feature views (task, timesheet, project, client, workload, reports) using our Next.js App Router page → view component pattern.
• Consume and extend data-fetching hooks built on TanStack React Query, following our shared base-hook conventions (useBaseQuery / useBaseMutation / useBaseInfiniteQuery).
• Implement UI with MUI 5 components, respecting the app's existing theme, spacing, and design tokens rather than introducing one-off styles.
• Gate new UI correctly using our permission system ()—features are permission-based, not role-based, so you will need to understand and respect that distinction.
• Work with workspace-scoped API calls and understand when an endpoint needs explicit workspace context versus relying on automatic scoping.
• Write clean, readable JavaScript/JSX that passes our ESLint (Airbnb-based) and Prettier setup.
• Debug issues across the stack—from a broken form validation to a stale React Query cache to a CSS layout bug.
• Participate in code reviews: give and receive feedback, and keep changes scoped to what is actually needed.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts and with the design team on translating mockups into working, responsive UI.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• ~2 years of professional experience building production web applications with React.
• Solid JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+, async/await, array/object methods)—comfortable in plain JS/JSX, not just TypeScript.
• Experience with Next.js (App Router preferred) or a willingness to ramp up quickly.
• Familiarity with a component library (MUI, Chakra, Ant Design, etc.) and building against an existing design system rather than styling from a blank slate.
• Experience with a data-fetching/caching library (React Query, SWR, RTK Query, or similar) and an understanding of cache invalidation basics.
• Comfortable reading existing code and following established patterns before introducing new ones.
• Working knowledge of Git (branching, PRs, resolving conflicts).
• Attention to detail—this product involves permission-gated features, multi-tenant (workspace-scoped) data, and time-sensitive logic (timers, timezones), where small mistakes are user-visible.

• Experience with form libraries (React Hook Form + Yup or similar).
• Exposure to i18n (i18next or similar).
• Familiarity with cookie-based auth flows and Axios interceptors.
• Experience with role/permission-based access control in a frontend app.
