The Story So Far
Unreconciled is an embedded finance agency serving startup and scaleup clients across the UK and US. We place trained finance operators — bookkeepers through controllers — directly inside our clients' businesses, handling everything from day-to-day bookkeeping to CFO-level advisory. Our delivery teams work out of Ahmedabad, Kochi and Indore.
In eighteen months we've grown to 50 people. Over the next three years we're taking that to 300. That kind of growth doesn't happen on its own — it needs someone who owns hiring as a function and builds the engine to deliver it.
The Role
We're hiring a Recruitment Lead to own finance and accounting hiring end to end and scale it hard. This is a decision-making and managing role, not an execution-only one. You'll bring more than five strong hires through the door every month, build and run the pipeline that makes that repeatable, and set the bar for who gets in.
Critically, this is not a generalist recruiting seat. You need real, in-depth accounting knowledge — enough to judge finance talent properly, design assessments that actually test capability, and hold the line on quality as volume climbs. You'll be trusted to make the call.

The Role

What You'll Own
- Hiring at volume — bring more than five strong finance and accounting hires through the door every month, consistently, as we scale from 50 to 300.
- The hiring decisions — you own who gets in. Screen, assess and make the call against a bar you help define and defend.
- Full-cycle recruitment across Associate, Senior Associate, Management Accountant and Controller roles — from sourcing to signed offer.
- A repeatable pipeline — build a live, qualified bench so volume hiring is a system, not a monthly scramble.
- Assessment design — use your accounting knowledge to build and run tests (AutoProctor, 75 minutes, plus live exercises) that genuinely measure capability and self-sufficiency.
- Managing the process — and the people in it as the function grows; you'll build and lead a recruiting team to sustain the pace.
- Active sourcing across LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, campus and community channels — going after talent, not waiting for it.
- Application intake & tracking (Cognito Forms) and in-person interview coordination with Partners and Controllers.
- Funnel performance — own time-to-fill, conversion and source quality, and keep quality holding as the numbers scale.
- We assess for self-sufficiency and accounting capability, not enthusiasm — live, unstructured exercises beat abstract competency questions.
- Technical assessment is timed and proctored (AutoProctor, 75 minutes) for Associate and Senior Associate roles.
- Interviews are in person. We don't hire on video calls alone.
- The trial period is the final filter — candidates earn the role by demonstrating capability, not by interviewing well.
- In-depth accounting knowledge — you understand the work well enough to judge finance talent, design assessments and hold quality. This is non-negotiable.
- A leadership mindset — you make decisions, take ownership, and can build and manage a team rather than only working a desk yourself.
- A fast learner — you pick up new context, tools and standards quickly and keep pace with a business that changes weekly.
- Proven full-cycle recruitment, ideally for finance/accounting, professional services, KPO/GCC or shared-services teams.
- A track record of hiring at volume without letting the bar slip.
- Strong sourcing across LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards and referral networks.
- Decisive and self-directed — you flag direction and move, rather than waiting to be told.
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Ahmedabad, Kochi or Indore. This is an office-based role.
- Comfortable with some overlap into UK/US business hours.
- A formal accounting qualification or background (e.g. CA / ACCA / CMA, part-qualified or qualified).
- Experience hiring for UK or US-facing finance teams.
- Experience building and leading a recruiting function from scratch in a high-growth environment.
- By month 3: 5+ hires a month running steadily, assessment process built around real accounting capability, pipeline live across core roles.
- By month 12: a repeatable engine and a small team behind it, quality holding through the trial filter, comfortably on track for 300.
