Release Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Release Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across development, testing, and production environments. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end release lifecycle, ensuring the seamless integration, testing, and deployment of applications, features, and infrastructure changes. You will collaborate closely with Agile delivery teams, QA, Development, Production Support, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality releases while maintaining environment stability and adherence to Release Management standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the end-to-end release management process, including planning, scheduling, deployment, and post-production support.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive release plans from QA through production deployment.
• Drive and coordinate software and hardware deployments while ensuring the consistency, availability, and integrity of development, testing, and production environments.
• Partner with Agile Squads, Program teams, QA, Development, Production Support, Product Owners, Agilists, and business stakeholders to align release schedules and priorities.
• Support production deployments, monitor releases, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolution efforts when necessary.
• Manage and maintain release and test environments to support the organization's delivery roadmap.
• Enforce Release Management processes, standards, and governance to ensure successful, repeatable deployments.
• Participate in defining and improving Release and Environment Management strategies, processes, and best practices.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships throughout IT to improve communication and release coordination.
• Monitor environment health and availability, helping ensure maximum uptime for critical systems.
• Identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report operational and delivery risks while operating within the organization's risk management framework.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve release processes, deployment efficiency, and environment management.

Required Qualifications

• Experience managing software releases and coordinating deployments across multiple environments.
• Experience with release planning, environment management, and configuration management.
• Experience working closely with QA, Development, and Production Support teams.
• Experience supporting both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
• Experience using Continuous Integration (CI) tools and deployment pipelines.
• Strong understanding of release governance, change management, and deployment best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple releases and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality releases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large-scale transformation or modernization initiatives.
• Experience with enterprise-level Release and Environment Management.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Experience working within regulated or financial services environments is a plus.
