Role Description The Road Tester (Gurudev Skoda) is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for test-driving vehicles to assess performance, safety, and overall roadworthiness. Daily tasks include conducting pre- and post-service road tests, identifying mechanical, electrical, and performance issues, and accurately documenting findings for the workshop team. The role involves collaborating with service advisors, technicians, and quality controllers to ensure that all vehicles meet manufacturer and dealership standards before delivery to customers. The Road Tester also follows all traffic and safety regulations, maintains test-drive logs, and provides clear feedback to support efficient diagnosis and repair. This position requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to process, and a strong focus on customer safety and satisfaction.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong driving skills with experience handling multiple car models, including manual and automatic transmissions.
• Candidates should possess practical knowledge of basic automotive systems (engine, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical) and be able to recognize common faults during road tests.
• Candidates should possess the ability to document test findings clearly, communicate issues effectively to technicians and service advisors, and follow standard testing procedures.
• Candidates should possess a valid driving license with a clean driving record and a strong focus on road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.
• Candidates should possess good observational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities to support accurate diagnosis and quality control.
• Candidates should possess the ability to work on-site in a fast-paced service environment, collaborate with the workshop team, and manage multiple vehicles in a given day.
• Previous experience in vehicle testing, automotive service, or quality inspection in a dealership or workshop environment is highly beneficial.
