Role Description The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding the customer base for steel strip products, with a focus on industrial and commercial clients. This full-time, on-site role is based in Chennai and involves overseeing the sales cycle from lead generation and prospecting through negotiation, order closure, and post-sale relationship management. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with clients, preparing and presenting proposals, tracking market trends, coordinating with production and logistics teams, and ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. The Sales Manager will also monitor sales performance, prepare periodic reports, and contribute to pricing and sales strategies. This role requires regular collaboration with internal stakeholders to align customer requirements with operational capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Strong sales and account management skills, including lead generation, customer relationship management, and negotiation.
  • Ability to analyze market trends in mining and metals, understand industrial customer needs, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Experience preparing sales reports, forecasts, and presentations, with proficiency in basic office and CRM software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders at different levels.
  • Proven ability to work on-site in a fast-paced industrial environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience in steel, metals, manufacturing, or related industrial sectors is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing key accounts.
