With over 40 cafés across locations such as the Supreme Court, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Lucknow airports, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and major corporate campuses, the organization has served more than 10 million meals and beverages. MITTI Café also runs experiential training programs that include food, logistics, housing, and stipends to support trainees before placement. Through initiatives like MITTI Karuna Meals and MITTI Good Gifts, the team provides meals to economically vulnerable families and promotes products made by marginalized communities worldwide. MITTI has been recognized globally for its impact, receiving honors such as the Forbes 30 Under 30, NITI Aayog Women Transforming India Award, UN Intercultural Innovation Award, and several other prestigious awards.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Barista role based in Bengaluru. The Senior Barista will prepare high-quality hot and cold beverages, manage food preparation for café offerings, and ensure consistent presentation and taste. Responsibilities include training and mentoring barista team members, overseeing daily café operations, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and coordinating inventory and stock replenishment. The role involves engaging with customers, handling feedback, and ensuring a welcoming, inclusive environment for guests and team members. The Senior Barista will also support MITTI Café’s mission by modeling inclusive practices, assisting with on-the-job training for team members with disabilities, and collaborating with supervisors on process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Barista skills, including beverage preparation, coffee equipment handling, and basic café operations.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to interact respectfully and warmly with guests and team members.
  • Candidates should possess clear Communication skills to provide guidance, share feedback, and collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
  • Candidates should possess Food Preparation skills, including basic food safety, hygiene practices, and quality control.
  • Prior experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment, ideally in a senior or lead barista role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and support team members with varying abilities.
  • Commitment to inclusion, empathy, and respect for people from diverse backgrounds and with different abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and point-of-sale systems is an advantage.
