Senior Detailing Engineer (PEB)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly technical Senior Detailing Engineer specializing in Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB). This role is critical to the engineering workflow, acting as the technical bridge between initial structural concepts and final drawing execution. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive expertise in Tekla Structures to generate precise, highly detailed technical connection inputs from General Arrangement (GA) drawings to guide the drafting department.

Position Details

• Department: Technical & Engineering
• Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in Civil or Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience Required: Minimum 4 + years of overall experience in the PEB sector, with at least 2 years of core experience specifically in Structural Detailing and Connection Engineering.
• Primary Software Tool: Tekla Structures (Advanced/Expert Level)

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Detailing & Handovers:

• Review incoming General Arrangement (GA) drawings and identify structural challenges, complex nodes, or missing information early in the engineering lifecycle.
• Generate precise, optimized technical details, structural connection definitions, and node configurations using Tekla Structures.
• Prepare complete technical package inputs and clear execution guidelines to hand over to the Drafting Department for the creation of final drawings.

2. Standardization & Quality Control:

• Maintain standardization in connection detailing to align with factory fabrication capabilities and automated Bill of Materials (BOM) nomenclature.
• Review complex 3D models developed by the drafting team to ensure alignment with the engineered details before final fabrication drawings are locked.
• Resolve technical ambiguities or Requests for Information (RFIs) raised during the structural modeling and fabrication phases.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures (modeling, connection applications, and custom component creation).
• In-depth understanding of standard PEB structural components (built-up sections, hot-rolled profiles, cold-formed purlins/girts, and bracing systems).
• Thorough knowledge of steel design codesand welding/bolting structural details.
• Strong analytical, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities.
