Ledvore is an engineering company with our delivery hub in Coimbatore. We design and deliver engineering solutions for clients across Ireland, Europe and the US — spanning automotive, medtech and industrial manufacturing.

The role:

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with 8–12 years of experience who can take a machine from a blank sheet to a working installation.

This is not a drafting or detailing role. If you have spent your career modelling parts to someone else's specification, this will not suit you.

What you'll own

• Reading the client requirement, challenging it where it is incomplete, and developing the concept and layout
• Full mechanical design — structures, mechanisms, guarding, pneumatics, motion
• Component selection. Sizing and choosing pneumatic cylinders, actuators, linear guides, bearings, drives, sensors and structural sections based on load, stroke, cycle time and duty
• Market and vendor sourcing. Researching suppliers, comparing specifications and pricing, downloading supplier CAD models and integrating them into the assembly
• Producing manufacturing and assembly drawings a machine shop can build from
• Supporting build, commissioning and design changes on the floor

What we need

• 8–12 years designing special-purpose machines, automation equipment, machine building— you have built complete machines, not just parts
• Strong SOLIDWORKS (or equivalent 3D CAD), including large assemblies and drawing standards
• Demonstrable component selection ability. In interview, you will be asked to justify the components you chose on a past machine and why
• Excellent spoken and written English. You will be on calls with European clients regularly. Understanding them, and being understood, is a hard requirement
• Genuinely self-directed. Nobody will be reviewing your work line by line

Nice to have

• Experience with European clients or standards (CE marking, machinery safety)
• Exposure to medtech, automotive or plastics equipment
