Employment Type: Full-time, On-site

Role Summary

The Planning Engineer prepares and controls the integrated project schedule, aligns engineering/procurement/manufacturing milestones, and drives stage-wise visibility for orders covering pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, tanks, and custom-engineered equipment. The role maintains WBS, baseline vs actual tracking, capacity/load analysis with PPC, and recovery planning to ensure on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

·        Develop WBS, network logic, and baseline schedules using MS Project/Primavera; define milestones, activity codes, and calendars.

·        Integrate engineering release plan (drawings, BOM), procurement plan (RFQ → PO → delivery), and manufacturing plan (cutting → fit-up → welding → NDT → hydro → dispatch).

·        Perform load vs capacity analysis in coordination with PPC for bays, machines, NDT, and inspection resources.

·        Track progress daily/weekly; update % complete, critical path, float consumption, and issue look-aheads.

·        Prepare progress S-curves, histograms (manhours, tonnage), and SPI/CPI snapshots with commentary.

·        Expedite cross-functional deliverables (engineering clarifications, vendor documents, QA/QC holds) to protect the critical path.

·        Publish dashboards, WIP trackers, and exception reports; drive recovery plans for slippages.

·        Support risk & change management: maintain risk register, assess impacts, and rebaseline when approved.

·        Align dispatch plans with stores/logistics; ensure packing lists, documentation, and inspection clearances are sequenced.

·        Maintain accurate planning files, codes, and evidence for customer reviews and internal audits.

Qualifications

·        B.E./B.Tech Mechanical (or equivalent); certification in project planning tools is an advantage.

·        3–8 years of planning experience in fabrication/EPC/static equipment.

·        Hands-on with MS Project or Primavera; strong Excel/ERP reporting skills.

·        Understanding of ASME/TEMA/IBR workflows and inspection gates preferred.

Key Skills

·        Project scheduling & critical-path analysis

·        Cross-functional coordination & expediting

·        Data-driven reporting (S-curve, histograms, SPI/CPI)

·        Risk awareness & recovery planning

·        Attention to detail and communication clarity

KPIs

·        Schedule adherence (%) at key milestones

·        Accuracy of look-ahead and forecast dates

·        Recovery effectiveness (slippage recovery %)

·        Quality of planning dashboards & stakeholder satisfaction

·        On-time dispatch readiness vs plan
